Falta de Documentos

Born from parents who were undocumented. I’ve had the chance to grow up with individuals who don’t have the proper documentation. This project is more of an alternative way to showcase representation to a marginalized group of individuals. People of color are overlooked. Fortunately, we are slowly climbing a non-existent ladder.
This project is an expansion of a previous project where I take portraits of people who are out of focus. I combined my current work by taking portraits of Undocumented individuals, but their identity is blurred. The reason behind the blur is people who don’t have the proper documentation live behind a shadow. I have interviews with the subjects regarding their situations. The work is in progress and will be shifting. I will be creating sculpture pieces that are in conversation with the subjects and the act of migrating.
